iPhone 6 Launch Boosts SpliceCom Mobility Sales

The hype surrounding the recent launch of Apple's next-generation SmartPhones has helped to further fuel the sales growth of SpliceCom's iPCS mobility app. To complement the availability of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus the British vendor has launched version 1.3 of its popular IP Softphone app which introduces support for iOS 8, alongside differentiation between Personal and Departmental calls and international language variants.

"It might be totally co-incidental, but the huge promotional campaign that Apple put behind the launch of its new phones appears to have upped the demand for business mobility," says Robin Hayman, Director of Marketing & Product Management for SpliceCom. "It also verifies that our concerted partner education campaign around the fact that mobility is "free" for SpliceCom Soft PBX customers is paying dividends."

SpliceCom's Secure Mobility Gateway utilises SSL technology and can be run on the same server as the company's S716 or S8000 Soft IP PBXs ¯ be they running on SpliceCom's own MultiApp Platform (MAP), a customer's server of choice, or in a virtual IT environment (as can SpliceCom's Vision Business Management Suite). Each Soft PBX Starter Pack comes with two complimentary iPCS app licences, which means that a highly featured mobility solution can be effectively deployed and/or trialled for zero cost.

"We're seeing far more customer trials of mobility than ever before," continues Hayman," whilst the time between an initial trial and the decision to deploy on a wider basis is shrinking as the benefits to the business are clear for all to see from day one. Making this key aspect of Unified Communications easy to implement, seamless to use, and free in the initial instance, eliminates all the barriers to providing a truly mobile and highly efficient business workforce and moves us ever closer to the total elimination of desktop phones," concludes Hayman.
